Webinar Series

Every now and then, Sustainable Florida will convene a webinar to help educate, promote and connect the state. Thank you to those who joined us Thursday, May 5th, at 1:00 PM for a free webinar that explored county sustainability efforts.

To better understand the status of sustainability planning within the state, Sustainable Florida, set out to classify sustainability planning and reporting across Florida’s 67 counties. The result was the release of Sustainability in Florida: A County Perspective

The webinar looked at the report and discussed how to implement best practices within your organization. This is great for counties, cities and anyone who runs a large organization.

Our goal is to help all counties move the sustainability needle to the max. Every county has the chance to offer a robust plan for their community and report regularly on how they are moving to be more efficient and effective given limited resources and environmental challenges.

We are very thankful for our presenters:
  • Lee Hayes Byron, Director, Sarasota County Sustainability
  • Tara Dodson, Environmental Supervisor, Environmental Division, Habitat Conservation Section, St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners
  • Susannah Troner, CSM, LEED-GA, Sustainability Initiatives Coordinator, Miami-Dade County – Office of Resilience (formerly Office of Sustainability), Regulatory and Economic Resources Department
We had more than 60 people attend the workshop! Presentation slides are here: Sustainability in Florida A County Perspective – Webinar!
