Sustainable Florida works on a variety of projects throughout the year. We welcome the opportunity to learn from students who are pursuing studies and perhaps a career in the field of sustainability. Internships afford a chance for the student to work with incredible companies and organizations while adding to the policy conversations in Florida.

Specifically, sustainability leaders on campus convene regularly to share best practices to enhance their sustainability efforts regarding facilities, administration, finances, curricula, student engagement and more.

The EASF needs to be rebuilt with a thorough statewide inventory of campus activities. Review the Scope of Work and consider applying. Deadline is May  11, 2016.

Meet our 2015 Summer Intern – Alexa Green

Alexa GreenI am a recent graduate from the University of Florida with a B.A. In Sustainability Studies and a B.S. In Psychology. While in high school I was very active in clubs, sports, and community service. I have always been interested in the South Florida ecosystems and have had an affinity for nature, teaching, and adventure. I have worked as a teacher with Breakthrough Miami and a camp counselor with Camp Live Oak in Oleta Park. At UF, I became an outdoor leader with the Travel and Recreation Program taking college students on backpack, canoeing, and snorkeling trips to beautiful destinations in Florida, North Carolina, and California. Recently, I worked with Keep Alachua County Beautiful as their Business Management Intern focusing on the logistics for their main event The Great American Cleanup. My passions are traveling, meeting new people, playing volleyball, and discovering what makes me happy. In the future, I want to help others find their place in creating a sustainable society and educate people on the principles of sustainability in a non-threatening way.
