Florida Association of Counties – June 28 – July 1, 2016 – Hyatt Regency Orlando – Orange County
For more than 80 years, the Florida Association of Counties has held an annual conference. This is the largest FAC event each year and offers an opportunity for hundreds of commissioners and county staff from across the state to come together for continuing education and critical networking. In addition to the educational sessions, this event also includes a 100+ booth educational exhibition – with exhibitors from around the country sharing cost saving tools and products with counties.   Conferences

Florida League of Cities Events – August 18-20, 2016 – Diplomat Resort – Hollywood – The Florida League of Cities annual conference is held each August in various locations throughout the state. Approximately 1,000 city officials from across Florida attend this meeting to share ideas, attend educational workshops and sessions, discuss strategies for Florida’s future, determine League policies, and visit the Municipal Marketplace. Florida Forestry Association – 2016 Annual Meeting – August 29-September 1, 2016 – Amelia Island – An excellent program designed to cover important matters related to forestry, land management, best management practices and safety matters. Register today.

Soil Health and Quality Workshop – August 31, 2016 – Quincy – FAMU Cooperative Extension presents Healthy Soils Grow Great Plants! – Get the real dirt from Florida Sustainable Agriculture Research Education (SARE) August 31st, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. American Planning Association Florida Chapter – September 6-9, 2016 – Tampa –The Florida Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA Florida) is a non-profit organization of professionals, students, and allied professionals providing vision and leadership for the future development and redevelopment of Florida communities. We are the state affiliate of the American Planning Association and have over 2,600 members, making us the second largest APA Chapter in the country.  In Florida, as well as nationally, we have a membership that is diverse in expertise and focus. APA Florida members work both in the public and private sector; for Federal, state, and local government; for firms both large and small; in long-range planning and development review; in master planning, as well as site planning; in transportation planning, land use planning, environmental planning, school planning, design, and in many other capacities. Conference

Global Energy Race –  September 25, 2016, 6 a.m. – Join us as we #RunAsOne with 37 cities around the globe. Hosted by Bimbo Bakeries USA, the Global Energy Race will feature a 10K run option, certified by USA Track and Field, as well as a 3K family fun run/walk. The event will offer: music, motivational announcers and warm‐up team, scenic routes, cool down recovery zone, refueling snacks, games, commemorative swag, meet Osito Bimbo, and much more. The race will be part of a Guinness World Records attempt: The most number of cities participating in the same race on the same day. For each kilometer completed by each participant in Orlando, Bimbo Bakeries USA will donate two slices of bread to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida – one loaf of bread per completed 10K. First place male and female winners of the 10K race in each participating city will receive an all‐ expenses paid trip to run in any 2017 Global Energy Race participant city. Florida School Boards Association 71th Annual Joint Conference and Board of Directors’ Meeting – November 29-December 2, 2016 – Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay – Tampa – The FSBA Annual Joint Conference and Board of Directors’ Meeting provides an opportunity for school board members, superintendents, district staff, and others to network, gain needed insight into the issues and events impacting education, and access valuable professional development opportunities. Florida Green Building Coalition – The Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) is a nonprofit Florida corporation dedicated to improving the built environment. Southeast Florida Regional Climate Summit – The Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact was executed by Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe, and Palm Beach Counties in January 2010 to coordinate mitigation and adaptation activities across county lines. The Compact represents a new form of regional climate governance designed to allow local governments to set the agenda for adaptation while providing an efficient means for state and federal agencies to engage with technical assistance and support. Calendar

Florida Association of the American Institute of Architects – The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has been the leading professional membership association for licensed architects, emerging professionals, and allied partners since 1857. Florida Housing Coalition – The Florida Housing Coalition is commonly acknowledged as the foremost authority in Florida on affordable housing, community development and related issues, as a clearinghouse for information, a provider of training and technical assistance, and an advocate at the state and national levels for people in need of affordable housing. http://flhousing.org
