Brandon Tidwell joined SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment in 2016 as the Director of Corporate Responsibility. In this role, he is responsible for the company’s commitments to become a more purpose-driven and sustainable enterprise. He is responsible for facilitating the twelve park’s’ efforts to reduce energy, water and waste; manages relationships and communications with key stakeholders; and, supports enterprise efforts to engage guests and ambassadors in taking action on behalf of animals and the planet.
Prior to SeaWorld, Brandon was the Director of Corporate Citizenship at Blue Shield of California in San Francisco. Brandon’s tenure there included re-calibrating the Shield Cares program to engage more employees in domestic violence prevention, completing negotiations for a 3 MW solar array at two facilities, and issuing the company’s inaugural Mission Report for all stakeholders.
Brandon also served as the Manager of Sustainability at Darden Restaurants and was on the Global Citizenship team at FedEx. At Darden, he was responsible for the sustainability journey and progress on our goals to reduce energy and water 15% by 2015 as well as send zero waste to landfill. At FedEx, he led the corporation’s philanthropic strategy for the environment and education. He founded EarthSmart Outreach, a collection of urban ecosystem projects with the National Fish & Wildlife Foundation, launched the FedExCup Fore! Ever program with The First Tee, and created the FedEx Transportation Fellows with EMBARQ. Brandon was also the editor of the company’s third Global Citizenship Report, published in 2011.
Brandon received his Master’s in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler School of Business in 2013. He also holds a Masters in Social Work from Baylor University and a certificate in Philanthropy from New York University. He was the 2010 recipient of Net Impact’s Force for Change Award.
